This page shows how a local note is created for the classification entry for Alaska (KF1201-1799).   We got to this screen by clicking on the letter "N" that is found in the parentheses on the line for Alaska a few screens ago.

Not only can you add your own text messages to the classification display but you can also create links to other locations in the database.  Local notes are stored separately for each user and are private to that user.  A user only sees the local notes that they have created and no others.

Here we are making a link to the record for Colorado (KFC1801).  By the way, each note field can be as long as you like.  These input fields scroll left and right as necessary to accommodate longer lines (try it).  You can input up to five notes per classification number and each note starts on a new line in the classification display.
